Information and tips for purchasing and transporting liquids as of 6 November 2006.
What do I have to do with liquids or cosmetics that I want to take with me on my trip?
» Liquids such as gels, pastes and lotions that you want to place in your
hand luggage must not exceed a maximum size of 100 ml per container.
That also applies to mixtures of liquids and solids and the contents of
pressurized containers.
(Typical examples are toothpaste, hair gel, beverages, soups, syrup,
perfumes, shaving foam, aerosols and other products of similar
consistency).
Exception: Medications as well as products for special needs and
baby food that will be required during the flight are not subject to
these restrictions. To be able to take these containers with you through the security
checkpoint, they must fit in a SINGLE transparent, re-sealable plastic
bag with a maximum size of 1 liter that you must present at the airport
security checkpoints.
What happens when I want to purchase liquids like beverages, perfumes, cosmetics or similar products at the airport?
» We recommend placing all such products in your check-in luggage that you buy BEFORE passing through the security checkpoint. Otherwise the above new regulations for liquids in hand luggage will apply. All products that you buy AFTER passing through the security checkpoint have already been checked and can be placed without hesitation in your hand luggage, while taking into account the applicable customs regulations.
We wish you a pleasant stay and a good flight.
